His own marriage is the second entry I have, after which follow:
Peter Grimmer x Dorothea Huber and Elias Snell x Anna Barbara Meyer on Jan 31, 1738.
On Feb 24, 1738 his last entry, known to me, John Shaumloffel x Anna Maria Dirr (= Dillen),
which we met before as the poor widow that lost her husband on the voyage (see letter to Paravicini, above).
This seems to be the final entry, for now we see a gap till Dec 12, 1739, when nephew Johann Ulrich, at the age of only eighteen, start to perform the same service to the Orangeburgers.

Hans Ulrich must have died in Orangeburgh, SC circa 1738, at the age of 52 years old.

We infer that the elder Giessendanner must have died about the close of the year 1738, since the records of his ministerial acts extend to the summer of that year, whilst those of his nephew commence with the close of the year 1739.
