Translation by Joop Giesendanner (Holland): Memo by Armin Müller, Lichtensteig, Conservator Toggenburger Museum; extract from the Council book; Ulrich Giezendanner (Pietist) by (30) 178 ff; The more harsh and pressing attitude towards attacks on the church and separation, was feeded after 1710 by Tannhard traveling in the west of Switzerland, Felix ??????? and U'G' in the east of Switzerland. U'G' back from Halle, saw to it that the dissolving movement founded by Scherrer was continued. In 1713 (in the year of death of Scherrer) already banned for life, he went to Zürich. There he was tolerated, after he had affirmed: only the regular ????? Nominated may teach and speak, the Anabaptists ["Re-Born"] may not separate themselves from the ranks of the church but through a devoted life, immediate ????????? by dreams, instruction by angels are phantasies. For two years he lived quietly doing his profession in Zürich. He was reactivated by a revival of Pietism in Winterthur. He traveled to Marburg, where Herrliberger from Zürich studied. There he interrupted the Reverend during the sermon, mounted the pulpit, began to preach and teach. Therefore he was banned from Hessen. |
