(15) 21 Sept Monday evening Privately baptized Robert Pue Legt child of Mr. Gavin Pue & wife - Spons- Michael Christopher Rowe, John Lucy Wolff & Sertina Wolff |
Comment Joop:
Pue is what it says, although Pou seems to be the commonly used name
Again a Rou, according to Salley (pg 33) the Rowe family came from Scotland and settled in Orangeburgh Township around 1740, but if Rou is more correct, it looks very much like French origin. It could also be, because the Rev. had no clue as how to write this name, it is 'as it sounded'
Could John Lucy Wolff be the same as John Lewis Wolf / John L Wolf / Lucas Wolf married to Sertina (Ursula, Tetina, Arketta, Ursetta) Jennings-Wolf-Pendarvis? Please, help to straighten this out.
It seems like all English oriented names/months/statements are in blockletters
