In Salley
the word Haymonth is not used, June is wrong, this was
July.
Henry, himself, states much later in his own handwriting
that he was born 17 June 1742, for that reason I took 17
as day of birth
There are 4 reasons I stick to 17 July as his birthday:
1. His father says so, he was there and Henry barely
2. The days of the week are correct (Old style)(991212)
3. The record says Haymonth and July
4. (991204) I have found another entry with a birtday
July 17th (see attach 1)
Leaves us with the problem that in the signs of the zodiac Twins (Gemini) runs from 21 May to 20 June (thank you, Mark), so the record is conflicting in itself:---Haymonth = July; ---17. July = a Saturday;--- Gemini implies June;--- 17. June = a Thursday
From what is left of Michael's family name this seems the obvious option: Lährij
Anna Rohrig did not exist, it is Anna Roth; it seems like the father was a bit exited himself, Rohtin is likely a slip of the pen
If anybody has any ideas on why Rev. Giessendanner would find it necessary to add "sign of the Twins", I would very much like to hear that
